On my trip to Bright, last weekend, we had the chance to visit some nearby mountains. One of them was Mt. Buffalo, elevation about 1450m, and it was a gloriously sunny day to visit it.

The summit or highest point of the mountain was called The Horn, and it was a moderate 1 hour hike to the top and back. I was pretty glad we made the trip because the scenery was nothing short of breathaking. I've never seen 360 degree views like this one before, where you can spin on the spot and see the entire landscape before you.

After 30 minutes of hiking, we were surprised to see some people climbing up the hard way... Big Grin

As usual, the photos don't really convey the sense of beauty of the place... but enjoy anyway! Big Grin
The base looks high to me........must have been breathtaking if the pics are anything to go by.

mordor.....Rolleyes cogeekugh Big Grin Big Grin

PS I loved LOTR
Great landscape pictures Smile I like them all...
It must be a wonderful place...
I think my fav is #2 because of the contrast of colors and detail in the foreground...
The colors in all of them are great!!
Nive work all around. #2 is awesome.
The first shot looks like Lanzarote or Fuerteventura. Volcanic and craggy, but a kind of raw beauty.
Thanks for the comments everyone!

NT73: yeah, it was very unique - the combination of rocks and scrub.. I don't think it's volcanic though. Big Grin In a couple of months the landscape would be very much different - covered in snow, I would imagine.
Looks beautiful, and a nice day for it too
