I'm feeling a little philosophical today but I won't bore you with my wisdom - just my photos.
I'll leave the comments up to you...

Wow, love the detail... and great lighting too. Very dramatic pics...
I like the treatment on your pictures... as ST said they look dramatic.
I like the tones, they go really well with the lighting and contemplative feel of the photos, nice work!
When I looked at the first pic I thought of all the little triangles and funny shaped bits of skin, and thought Jigsaw.
But it is a very different type of photo.Wink
lovely smarti! Big Grin
I especially like #1. The lighting is sublime and the detail fantastic. Very very nice.
While I normally really enjoy it when shots like these put together as a series as you have done, I'd like to see #1 by itself in this case. I think it creates a really nice tension between being recognisable as a hand and being an abstract (more correctly, an extract) shot. Its easy to ignore the fact its a hand and just admire the detail. But having the other shots there kind of spoils the mystery a bit and makes it more difficult to treat #1 as an abstract image.

Oh, and I do also really like #2 and #3 too... but can't get enough of #1! Big Grin
Thanks Everyone. I did consider posting the first shot on its own because it was more abstract and stood out from the others but eventually decided to post a couple more just to give a comparison.

It was a very simplistic shot of my own hand, (camera hand held in the other) natural sunlight only (near sunset). The low light emphasized the details (highlights and shadows) in the fine details of the skin.
#2 is my fav - lovely textures...
