Hey, I've been away from ShutterTalk quite a long time now. I've been in a terrible hurry. But now I'm back.

I just received my Canon Powershot S2 IS in the begging of May.
I must say that I'm terribly satisfied with its 12x optical zoom and the quality of the pictures. But a major minus was that no rechargable batteries were included nor a camera bag. So, an extra 600 EEKs ($50) had to be spent on rechargable batteries and the charger. So, total sum - 7600 EEKs ($590).

I'll try to upload some shots taken with S2 in the next few days.

Anyone else using S2 IS here?

I look forward to answer any questions about S2. : )
Excellent Xeo. Cant wait for some shots. Smile
Congrats on the purchase - I am sure you will love it.
Good for you, enjoy the new cam.

A friend of mine at my club uses a Canon S2, and produces some excellent images with it. He used to be little sheepish when admitting that he doesn't use a DSLR, but the ribbons he wins for his images are the same colour as mine.

(Another friend also produces excellent images with a Fuji S2. Camera companies need to come up with better names.)
Cool, nice to see you again, Xeox, and congrats on the purchase!

My cousin was thinking of buying the S2 as well...

Let us know your thoughts on it! Big Grin

Any pics? Big Grin
Congratulations on the new equipment Smile Look forward to some images.
Congrats!

Some cool shots there, X. How do you like the S2 so far?
Well, I am very satisfied with it so far. The noise is very low.
Only thing is that today, when I was shooting with ISO 400, I found a dead row of pixels from every shot. Now, tomorrow I'll take the camera to guarantee in hope that they would exchange it. I'm sure it is a manufacturer defect. I wouldn't say that Canon is a bad manufacturer, it just happened. I had no problems when using Ixus 30 and it works without problems still.

Eek!:o
Hey Xeox... I like flower photos - the colours are very rich. Pity about the row of dead pixels - that sort of thing is definitely unacceptable and the dealer should exchange it for a new unit. Good luck! Big Grin
