A friend and I went to a nature reserve on the south tip of Brooklyn today, for those of you who've been to New York before, it's just accross the water from JFK airport, called "Jamaica Bay".
We were having a lot of fun, getting to see a bunch of wild birds (for which I don't have a long enough lense). So while my friend was mostly (literally) focusing on birds, I tried a few "bug shots".
The whole place was crowded with caterpillars, so they were an obvious target.
But the do move very swiftly, and I was eager to shoot wide open, although I should have stepped down the aperture, to have a chance to get a sharp picture, and maybe one that would have looked more scientific then artistic.
I did also try a few flying insects, but they are toooooooooo fast for me! :-)
Cheers, Uli
