The engineering people at Canon have been at it again, bringing more of that engineering goodness to the photographic public. Canon have announced two new lenses:

- EF 50mm F1.2L USM

- EF 70-200 F4L IS USM

The former has the widest aperture in Canon's EF lineup, which is simply unbelievable..

The latter brings image stabilization to the popular 70-200mm telephoto zoom range at a cheaper price point than the similar 70-200 F2.8 IS. The IS supposedly gives an sharp images at a shutter speed up to 4 steps slower.
Yay~
hah.... the 50mm f/1.2L, for me, sounds nice, but, I am scared by the cost Smile haa.. (your title says 50m Wink)

I think I'm affected more by the marketing goodness rather than the engineering goodness. Making me think I need something!
Hah, they didn't even make one to fit my camera. Would have bought a couple of the F1.2 ones if they did. ;-) Wink

lol... fixed Smile
I have been waiting for this lens (the 50 1.2) but the cost is higher than I expected.

I think I may have to settle for the 1.4.
