Just got it this morning, and from the preliminary test shots I've taken, it looks pretty darn good!

The focus is just SO much smoother and more accurate than my clunky ol' 50mm! Loving that, and much more accurate AF in low light conditions (went into the dark part of my kitchen, just to test it out). Its not as heavy as I expected- heavier than my 50mm and kit lens obviously, but much lighter than my big zoom.

I've also just brought Gary Fong's lightsphere, which is cool too. I will give them a proper work out at my session this saturday (my 2nd maternity photo shoot, my first ever stranger shoot!) and report back. I'll try to post some test shots tonight. So far, I'm likin' it!

I have two of them and they work great - but I have found something I like even better now (for less money).

Anyone want to buy a lightsphere? Smile
ugh, Chris, you could've said that before I went and brought one!
P.S Why do you like it better??

I know, I know, I'll get to the posting piccies bit...too much to do, not enough time!
Here we go, This is SOOC except a small S curve, and mild USM

I have the old Sigma 28-105mm F2.8-4.0 and (I know that it is not a sharp lens) but being used to my 16-45mm I find it a bit limiting when shooting inside, handy size otherwise.
looking good...........like the last shot Cool
I really like the last one Schell , Good job . I guess i will lhave too look more into these spheres .

The lightsphere offers no control and you have to rely on wall or ceiling - the other one has the softening effect of a lightsphere with the added ability to throw more light forward if you need to. It also can be used more effectively if you do not have anything to bounce off.

I like the lightsphere - but like this better and it is half the price.

Cheers,

Chris
