Recently bought a nylon fabric on ebay and buildt my own pvc frame to make a diffuser screen. it measure 1 meter wide and 1,5 meter tall.

Just a quick test shot of my wife sitting in the sofa, i know the framing is terrible. She just got home and where eating and watching tv. :-),

strobe with white shoot thru umbrella behind it.

metered @f/2.0

screen camera right and a foamcore sheet at camera left for fill.

it diffuse the light quite well.

Will mostly use it for outdoor useage, but i think it will come in handy in the studio aswell at times.

will try it outdoors soon, will post some shots of the screen and the results.

Nice effect.

Good size scrim for portraits. Bigger's always better as far as diffusion is concerned. Wink

Frosted shower curtain liners are a usable material too, and inexpensive. If you find you need to filter more of the harsh sunlight, you can "double up" yours with a section cut from one of those.
Yes thats a great idea, im gonna start using this home made scrim. but im planning on getting a lastolite skylite setup 1x2 meter if find this way to diffuse sunlight working well.

Jerry:I'll post some shots of it when i try it outdoors, hopefully tomorrow.

I have a relfector that also includes a difuser - I call it my portable cloud Smile

Looks like your set-up is working well Paul.
My reflector has a diffuser also , but i havent had a chance to use it yet .

Great idea Paul . If i ever get the need for a " larger " diffusser " i will have to give this a try .

How does your reflector work ? is it just a frame that you change the fabric on ?

Its a 5 in 1 , It would prob be easier to show you than try to tell you LOL .

Here is one that is similar to mine. I think they have all the info you need . But like i said it may not be big enough for what you want . I have the 36 inch ( or 32 ) but they had one that was 42 in. That was just too big for what i was needing at the time .
