Tried out an idea i had for the product shot challenge, but i havent had time to try it until tonight.
Spicy Oils
Setup:
1 strobe behind subject (camera right), softbox, aimed towards a foamcoresheet angled so it would act as fill (from the front)
1 strobe with a large softbox above the subject
1 strobe behind subject (camera left) with a 20 degree honeycomb grid.
C&C welcome as always.

Very nice idea... I like the room you left in between... I find only one light, the one comming from the left, a bit too hard... but it might be part of the message....
Great picture...

Thanx Irma, the light from the left was intentional hard since i used a honeycomb grid, But i agree the hotspot on the lemon bottle could be avoided by taking the shot from another angle, or just turn the bottle a little. The reason i didnt use a softbox, was cause the light was to even, and i didnt get the same specular effect from the backlight shining thru the bottles.
Thanx for looking Irma.

This is very nice, I like the colors and the fact that I can see what's in the bottles.
I'm afraid I suck at product shots, and maybe at commenting on them, too. I always find it hard to appreciate the complexity of the lighting, especially when it comes out looking more or less natural. Which is probably what every photographer wants.

Thanx G, yes my intention was to get enough backlight to make the content stand out.
Thanx for looking.

Paul, as always great shot mate..........thanks for posting the info to go along with the shot too. This helps give us all ideas. I see the hot spot only because Irma and yourself have a critical eye.

Very nicely done, Paul. I'm impressed!
I love the lighting... and the colours against the black background is awesome.
Thanx Russ and Jules.
More setup info:
bottles was on a grey sheet of wood, on the ironing board.
background was a black nylon fabric (a flag) placed about 1.5 meter from the subject, so i wouldnt get any spill on it.
Thanx for looking guys.
