I've never taken a deliberate portrait shot before, this is my 9yr old gdaughter who is clearly amused at her gran's stalking her with a camera.

My Aranza is 9 as well, she is my niece... and she looks much older in pictures... or maybe I insist on seeing her like a baby... Smile

Pat - if you get that new DSLR you will be able to get an external flash and bounce it off the ceiling - this would help you with a much softer light effect.

An external flash was on my shopping list for the Pro1 - now on list for DSLR
