Full Version: Making Albums of 4 x 6 Prints

I am enjoying my very reliable Canon 4 X 6 dye transfer printer. I don't use the computer to make prints and I know I'm not going to get ink blocked up and printer driver quirks that drove me crazy with the Epson ink jet.

The one drawback is--what do i do with the prints. The larger ink jet prints could be bound into nice stand alone albums with spiral-type or tape bindings. Does anyone have suggestions about how to bind 4 X 6 prints for display? I prefer not to cover them with plastic since the prints have their own protective coating. If I use plain paper album pages, how to I safely glue the prints in?

Suggestions welcome.
Print on post card stock - then you should be able to mount them very nicely in a scrapbook.
What kind of glue should I use?
'3M's Photomount' is a spray on stuff for such a purpose, like the adhesive on 'post-it-notes'.
(If you use it I would suggest a mask over the album, roughly the size of the print.
or you can buy little corner tabs to put the corners into.
Or Evostic wood glue watered down 50 %
Just suggestions Don. Don't ruin anything.... try out first.
p.s Has your snow gone yet?
Thanks--I like the wood glue idea. The photos are plastic film coated. I can't see how they can be ruined. I have a lot of left over glossy photo paper. I think I'll try gluing my photos one or two to a page of glossy paper then bind it in books when I have enough.
I like the double sided tape mounting tabs that you can buy at any stationary or photo store. They don't show on the photo, like the old style black corners, but are not as permanently stuck-down as glue, and not as potentially damaging to the photo.
Thanks Toad. I ended up using a glue stick. It adheres very well to smooth paper. I want to bind these like I have been doing to my large ink jet prints.
