I am working on improving my flash techniques, using the Canon EX 580.

I didn't bring the manual to China with me, and was wondering if it can be downloaded somewhere?

And I wonder if anyone else who uses this flash can help me with this one:

I know you can meter on an object, then lock the flash exposure and recompose your picture. Is it a button on the cam I should be holding (Rebel xt)? I tried the * , but that's the focus lock, not the exposure.

Hey Uli... I thought the * was to lock exposure? On the Nikon D50 you can configure the button to lock exposure, focus or both... maybe have a look through your menus..
