It seems kind of blury, or is that just my eyes? I am guessing you did the shadows?
I think i like it! The softness of the picture gives it a ghostly aura.

Yes, it is exactly how I meant it to be Dewy. I was just playing with Tonal softening and was quite taken by this version.
I know you did the cropping, blurring, and repasting trick. Only the edges are blurred. I always do that to call attention to my subject. Nice effect.

Blurring an image isn't hard - selective sharpening is more of a trick.
I think that luminance sharpening is the technique that you used. That is what it looks like anyway. All the areas of the photo with high luminance are sharpened - the rest has been deliberately blurred. I'll bet that is pretty close to your method, right?.
Are there no secrets to be kept?
