Great captures, Don. I recently attended an art show at the Vancouver Art Gallery of the works of Fred Herzog. Like you, he spend many, many years documenting the minutiae of Vancouver neighborhoods and the *ordinary* things that people would not typically take pictures of. Now his stuff is marveled at by Vancouver dwellers and foreigners (not Vancouver dwellers) alike. People are amazed that anyone thought to capture things that were pedestrian at the time - but now are gone forever. Both my wife and myself commented on how the focus of his photography was similar to yours.

This link is thin on photo content, but if you google him, you will get some feel for his work. If you are in Van in the next little while, I highly recommend the show.

There are several good discussions online about the philosophy of his work, but not too many good presentations of his photos. This sort of salesy site gives a flavor of his work:
