Which is exactly what I did after I took this shot, missed a step and went flying - does anyone know how to repair gravel rash on a 400D :/ C & C welcome.

Nice Capture Pat, sorry to hear about the camera, you weren't hurt I hope?
I hope you and your camera are ok. Falling with my camera or dropping my camera is my biggest nightmare. I get extra paranoid while near water and when other people use my camera...
top of camera scratched as is hood, thank goodness I had the hood on otherwise it would have been goodbye to my 10-20mm, the camera working OK - as for me only my dignity hurt :|
I am very sorry Pat about your accident.
great that nothing happened to you ... A camera always can be replaced but you don't... Wink

Ouch! That would have been a tough lens to lose. It's good to hear that you're okay, too. Big Grin
I was looking recently at a hard plastic cover for the 400D. Maybe on this site ?
If not google it. Mind you it's too late for the last accident but not too late for the next one.
Who said they come in sevens? Big Grin
Great to hear you are ok Pat - hoods are really good for protecting your lens.

I fell over on a glacier in NZ and used my 5D for a cushion Smile Nice little scratch in a similar place to yours.
Great story. When I worked in the oil fields as a young man, they used to tell us: " Save the equipment - the men you can replace...".
