Thanks Rufus. I really like this image. More than most I suppose as I'm not getting much response at any forums on it. Oh well. As long as I like it.

I think it's very cool. Rock 'n roll. Just needs a burger and a big creamy chocolate shake.
But what's the fuzzy thing at the left?

I think its a super shot! You'd have to be north american to really understand the A&W "aura"....

Thanks fellas. The blue thingy is a teddy bear that was sitting on the hood. I was just too lazy to clone it out.

Hey, brings back memories... do they still have drive-in restaurants around?
I was thinking maybe if it was tilted the other way, it would be better. It looks as if the root beer is about to slide off the trays out of the frame.

That's neat! It reminds me of the sort of image that was on the screen as I was snogging my boyfriend in the back row of the 2/6 seats (best seats) at the local cinema during the 50s and early 60s.

Thanks Pol and Jules. I took this photo on an angle. There was no rotating in processing. I just wish that the teddy bear was the A&W Root Bear. I would have included it in the shot. I have a shot of the entire car but it doesn't relate to drive in restaurants the way this one does. The last A&W drive in restaurant in B.C. and maybe Canada was closed and torn down about 7-8 years ago in Langley B.C.

What a shame about pulling down the last drive-in. I always think it's sad when something that was a well-known, often used part of a community disappears forever.
I'd never heard of the A&W Root Bear, me being from this side of 'the pond' but I just did a google search and found a lot of sites showing the bear - very nice bear too.
Your picci shows the "same beer, different bear" ..... blue because his last drive-in has been torn down. Shove a tear drop on his face and give him a bear hug

The only car hop style restaurants now that are in B.C. are White Spot. Somewhat famous around here but not like the ol' A&W. They're missing things like buying a Gallon of root beer in a glass jug and getting the mugs like you see in the photo. You got great value for your money. White Spot on the other hand is overpriced and nothing to rave about. The only thing I like is the car hop experience.

Good old A&W, its a rarity down here. There is a "linament" down here that must be made of the same root as it smells like root beer, quite funny when the locals here smell root beer, they don't understand how people drink it.
