I believe that the ulrawide lens gives ordinary places a special dignity and gravity. To illustrate, I present 9 photos taken during my walk to McDonalds and back (for supper tonight).

I also have the Sigma 10-20mm lens Don (but on a Canon body). I love it!

You're right that such a wide angle lens provides quite a unique way to look at the world.
You can really play up the perspective distortion effects, especially placing things in the corners of the frame (such as faces).
