One of the first test images from my new lens (Sigma 10-20). Just having some fun yesterday morning under a very overcast sky. No high contrast to worry about. I wanted to try the lens really wide. Handheld at f 11. Images would likely improve with faster shutter speed or use of a tripod. I can hardly believe the DOF. The dino was only a foot away from the camera!

You are right the overcast sky helped to have true colors in your picture.
Congratulations on your new lens... Smile
Good rich colours Dennis. Am I right beleiving you focused behind the dinosaur? Pavel
Hi, Pavel!

Yes, I suspect the focus was set to auto, so it was in the distance. This was among my very first shots. It would probably help to try manual focus in the future, especially when I have the time. I agree that Dino is not really sharp. As I said this would probably improve a bit with faster shutter speed of use of a tripod. I haven't had a chance to do more testing. Maybe later this week.
I do not think the issue is the shutterspeed, Dennis. I think it seems more an issue of having focused on the background, rather than foreground. Nevertheless, I love the lens and I know you will have a ball with it. Good luck. Pavel
Now looking at your picture again under different light/mental state, I can see how expressive your picture is Dennis. For any of us to have a new lens is the same happiness kids experience in a playground!... Wink

Love it!!
This playground is just a few minutes walk from my home. It's located in a park that is often filled with kids and dogs at play. I used the playground earlier this year to first try out my camera and now my new lens. I especially like the shapes and bright primary colours. The weather this week has been very dull and overcast. I hope that Haloween will present some interesting opportunities for my hobby.
