On my birthday, my wife treated me to a spa & massage and a lunch at The Lakehouse in Daylesford. On the balcony, there were these three kookaburras that apparently come everyday for a free feed of kangaroo meat (how spoilt!).

I didn't know this bird.... It looks very sweet.

Very cool birds , i have seen them on the TV . These are the ones that you can " call " . Kinda like Koo Koo Koo and they " call " back LOL i dont know how else to explain the sound .

I like the baby in #2. It is like Orville (the big green ventriloquist's dummy). We don't get Kookaburra's but have seen them on the stamps. Great shots with good clarity. I might be a bit wary of those big bills though.

I still remember this trip - it was on my birthday three years ago, but we cut the trip short because my sister-in-law gave birth to her first baby girl.

I like number 2 they both look so cheeky! Brings back very pleasant memories of my Oz trip where we used to see them sitting on the telephone lines just chilling out. Very cool thanks for sharing.

Great shots - my fav would be #2 - and also a fascinating sound clip.
