I haven't been to see any movies for ages - it's difficult to steal a night out with a 12 month old... but I recently watched the James Bond flick - Quantum of Solace on DVD. I enjoyed Casino Royale, so I must admit that i had higher expectations and I was a little disappointed by this one. To me it dragged a bit, the storyline suffered from a lack of focus and the characters were too wooden and bland. The worst bit was the ending - a building built out of combustible fuel cells? I mean, c'mon...

Anyway, what has everyone seen lately? Any recommendations for a movie starved dad? Big Grin
Depends on what sort of film you like but I've yet to come across anyone who didn't thoroughly enjoy "The Green Mile" (Tom Hanks). I definitely rate it very high amongst my top 10 favourite films.
Here the Amazon UK link for the synpopsis.

Hey Pol, I enjoyed that one - very moving...

Any more recent ones? Big Grin
A few others I've watched during the past couple of years and they've stuck in my mind ...

Then there's also "The Kite Runner" DVD if you haven't read the book

And "La Vie En Rose" is also a good one - if you like Piaf (which I do)

One comedy that had me doubled up was "Miss Firecracker" (with Holly Hunter) ... hilarious in a bittersweet sort of way.

Hope there's something there you might enjoy. It's a shame you didn't live nearer or I'd lend you our Amazon marketplace pile. We grab them cheaply, watch them then pass them on to a local charity shop. Big Grin
