Almost all graphic software scales incorrectly -

Interesting research done by this guy - apparently almost all software (even major ones like photoshop) use an incorrect algorithm to scale / resize images. Basically, he claims that they assume that gamma in an image is linear, whereas it is actually exponential - so images turn out darker than they should.

To be honest I found the differences to be very minor, but I guess if you're fussy or if your work depends on accurate brightness / gamma, then it's good to know...
