Dead pixel. - NT73 - Dec 2, 2011

My old camera that my wife uses has a dead pixel which appears now on all shots as a red blob.
Is there a way to make an action to remove it. i.e. cloning the next couple of pixels over it. Or something similar.?

NT, I would ask Glen Mitchel at http://www.thelightsright.com/. His site is a great resource and he answered some questions in the past. He would be my first pick.

I would check on the forums of DPReview here: http://forums.dpreview.com/forums/.
I would also check with some pretty knowledgeable guys here on Flickr: http://www.flickr.com/groups/photoshopsupport/ , http://www.flickr.com/groups/psjunkees/ and perhaps here: http://www.flickr.com/groups/httpwwwflickrcomgroupsphotoshop_professionals/

I think if nobody can help you in any of these places, it can not be done.

Take care.

Pavel

Thanks Pavel.

Quicker way would be as you suggest using cloning tool set to "replace"(assuming Photoshop)...or just with one hot pixel, easier to use the patch tool. I use the latter a lot with my filthy sensor! Seemples. Smile
