Wax paper to plan framing - shuttertalk - May 8, 2012

Here's a great tip - basically they suggest that if you are going to mount a few frames on a wall, plan out your layout on the floor first on a sheet of wax paper. Draw on the paper the outlines of the frames and where the nails/hooks will go.

Then stick the paper on the wall and nail in the hooks through the paper. Then simply rip the paper away and hang your frames! Genius!

That's an excellent idea. I've tried marking and making grids with painter's tape, but it rarely works.

Nowadays I mostly just put my photos in free-form groupingsā€¦
