Choice, options and variety can be good, but in terms of digital cameras the proliferation of features, models and brands can sometimes cause headaches. If you had to choose TWO aspects, above all else, which influence you to purchase one camera over another?

Well I've wanted something that could take great shots quickly...the Canon SLR 300D certainly does this! It's also got many of the features of a regular SLR so this provides flexibility to be creative...

Anyways for me the most important factors would probably be a mix of image quality, reputable brand and simplicity.

Yup know what you mean...I've just got a set of main things to do in my mind and stick to learning those functions the quickest!

For me, I would have to say #1 - Name and #2 - Control.
I wouldnt mind spending a couple of extra bucks (on credit
) to get a good brand name like, Nikon or CanonI would like to have a lot of control with my camera. That means that even if it has 'auto-everything', there should still be options for playing around with the aperture, focus, emulsion, etc

I selected Image quality and features.
Image quality because I want the quality fo the images to be good
and features because it'd possibly allow you to do more things

Funnily enough, when I bought my Fuji S5000, I knew the image quality wouldn't be the best, based on lots of user opinions and reviews. However I chose it because of the features and flexibility (and price was reasonable too).
Plus, although most peopld said that there was lots of noise in the images, they said that overall, the pictures were pleasing. Hey, good enough for me.

Price was important for me too, it had to be affordable, so for the price, it had good features
I was happy about the image quality - it wasn't the best compared to other cameras (the very expensive ones), but was good enough for me, and if it's good enough for me, I'm happy, so I'm happy Also, when I bought the camera, there wasn't much any more choice in terms of cheap DSLRs (unless it meant I had to wait a few months for the D70 to come out).
Many people say that it is the photographer, not the camera. I agree with that, but only too an extent, when the case comes to maybe taking the most beautiful scenery with a camera phone. The photographer may have composed it in the best way, but the quality may be so low, that it just looks bad

Image quality is overwhelmingly the most important feature - that's what photography is all about - the image is KING!
However for me, ease of use is the next most important thing in a camera. I don't want to spend time fiddling with a camera to get it to work how I want when I could be taking pictures or enjoying my holiday, for example.
