I'm just wondering if any wizzes out there know how the canon (or any other brand) image stabilizer works on their lenses?

special techno wizardry which is beyond me, but lens would use some sensors and micro gyros with one or more of the elements.

Jwith 7D though, the CCD itself is stabilised!
