Old photography methods

I shared my knowledge about the "sunny 16" last post, now just for fun and aditional information check this article I've found about the old photography methods back in the days photography was a all new thing !

You should share some photos you have taken with that!
I saw one in action during the shooting of a movie but never saw modern pictures taken with one.
It would be great to compare the results of a modern flash with a really old one.
what would it look like in color?

Daniel, I am not quite that old, did fire it a couple of times when I found it in the shop.

True story, Early 1930s a group of local dignitaries were having a picture taken, the above flash was then in use, they produced a lot of smoke, and there were 5/6 photographers taking same pic, so decided to only use one flash.

Cameras used were on a tripod, no shutter, lens cap removal and replacement, decided exposure.

Plan was, the person firing the flash, would say," Caps off", then count 1, 2, and fire it.

All ready to go, he shouted," Caps off", and all the people in the group, removed their hats!!!

I knew one of the photographers. Ed.

That's the kind of experience someone like me will never even imagine how it felt to be a photographer back in the days.
