#1 and #2 are posted a photos with a lot of distractions. It seems as though they are just "snapshots". This is especially true of #2. Way to much going on!

#3 is a lovey shot. Great crop, muted color and processed with subtleness. Good job Don.

Oh, I get it.... Funny guy. I didn't fully get it until this past post.

Why post pics in the critique section Don if all you want is positive feedback? I take the time to comment, positively and negatively on aspects of member's photos. First, because they asked for it by posting in this section, and second with the hopes of generating an interactive discussion to help "everyone" grow as a photographer. I know I have by reading the comments of others in this section.

I noticed you have had a sarcastic tone the last several pictures I have commented on. If you are looking for comments as potential critiques, why not take the time to respond back with something useful in return. If you don't agree with something, say so. If you do, then post back with some of the changes people are suggesting.

I'm getting the feeling a post or two have been removed that were posted in front of Jerry's last post. Is this true Don?

To comment on the images, I'd have to say #3 is the interresting one. I've never been on the VIA before.

I never removed any postings. I understand you point Jerry. I would say the best kind of critiques are suggestions that can be made on the photo as is. I don't think it's useful to tell me how i can take the shot given another opportunity. Alomst all my photos are all grab shots, found by luck.

Maybe you are right, maybe I should stick to Photo showcase.

I think what we have here is not a new "Don Schaeffer" style, but a know style called "Grunge"
Here is one reason that I feel this to be so: http://www.acclaimimages.com/search_terms/grunge.html

Now, I understand grunge as being a rebellious comment on the structure and constraints of society,
particularly in terms of freedom of artistic expression. Look at Warhol, for example.
This teenage/youth angst style is surely a valid artistic comment........ for it's day. Unfortunately,
it appears that it's day was 40 years ago.

You have missed my point completely. I think its time I followed ruf, polly, NN and others and spent my time elsewhere.

Jerry, This forum was your idea, and I was very happy to see that you were posting more comments here lately. I don't want you to go.

Hi Mr. Happy. I am too old to protest like that. I regard my photos as naturalistic. I take pictures of what is available to me. I try to document my environment.
