General Camera Cleaning
#1

I have just spent two weeks in 42 degree extremely dusty conditions at the Australian Scout Jamboree and have a layer of dust on my D-SLR's, cleaning inside the camera is well documented but I have not seen a lot about external cleaning of the cameras.

So far I have used a soft brush and a computer cleaning extension for a vacuum cleaner that has a small brush on the end, what else do others do? I guess I will also visit my local shop and have a look on their shelves to see what they have.

Cheers.

Pete

P.S. I will post a few photos soon.

not sure about the former.

I usually use a slightly damp cloth to wipe off any dirt, and that's about it. Obviously not something soaking wet; maybe if it's heavily soiled, then a little bit of soap could be added?

I always carry a Microfiber cloth with me for any external cleaning, except for glass. A camel hair brush is the best in my opinion the get into the tight spots.
