Sony Announces entry into CompactFlash Card market
#1

According to dcviews, Sony Europe has announced its entry into the compactflash market, with CompactFlash Type I offerings featuring 66x and 133x transfer speeds and capacities between 1GB and 4GB.

The cards will be part of the Sony A100 DSLR range, which was inherited from Konica Minolta, and uses CompactFlash cards primarily, or Sony Duo / Pro Duo memory sticks via an adapter.

I think this is quite interesting - is this a move to adopt the more popular CompactFlash cards as a standard, or will the continue to push their Memory Stick formats in future models? There's probably too much competition in the compact flash card market to make a big profit margin, so my guess is probably the latter...
