S'allright chaps, don't worry; I'm not expecting a comment either.

On Saturday there was a break in the rain, so I went on the prowl in my neighbourhood with the 70-200. These are at a variety of lengths and apertures, all hand-held at ISO 100, all shot in raw with just the merest hint of pp sharpening though they did not really need it for web output.
Here's my little walkabout in photo-form...!

This was at f4, I think at full stretch.



I think I was still at f4 or so here, as I moved round the hill to get Stroud in the background and waited for the convenient break in cloud on the birches...about 80mm I think...



I walked on a bit more, turned and zoomed to 200mm to catch the woods across the valley....



.....finally returning to my home near Doverow Hill(which is the hill on the horizon) via the village of Selsley, again waiting for the convenient light on the foreground: just lazy against using grads here, you understand!

lovely countryside you've captured there, Shaun. the first one is a wonderful study in texture, and i especially like #3... love those colors, and the rolling hills... maybe it's just my monitor, but it seems these could use a touch more contrast, make the colors pop a little more?

Ta mate. Yes, I remember your obs the other day about the contrast and had a real squint after; actually I've already had to "block and blow" the shadows and highlights and shadows out from the originals here to get them looking zingy enough for web output. (:|Hmm..thinks.)
