These fine beasts were pulling a sleigh full of kids on the ice around a frozen pond at a Winter Carnival last weekend. I find all horses to be quite majestic.
Processed with a bit of Lightroom and lots of Nik software. I'm learning (and experimenting here).

Hi Dennis, this was so nice; I loved it and also I found it so artistic too. Well done,
Thank you,

Dennis,
I think your post processing helps a lot to focus in the horses, and avoids distractions from the background. I like the vintage feel too.

Stonking shot and really on top of the pp all the way through Pavel; I'm sure it's even more of a belter in print an' all.

Thanks so much, Zig! I'm actually flattered that you thought my image was created by Pavel. He is a good friend of mine and I believe a very talented photographer. He has taught me quite a lot over the past few years and we continue to encourage each other. Yes, it looks pretty good as a print. However, I now feel I need to do a bit more to better isolate the horses.
Regards.....Dennis

Ohhhh yes...Dennis, I do apologise, though please both take it most certainly as a compliment; I'd "bracketed" you both together in some Freudian-slip sort of way.
To be honest, it's a peach of a shot as it is: I know it's only my tuppenceworth but with this sort of pp the initial "aperture-dependent" tones do separate really nicely.

Thanks for the compliment Zig. It is nice to know that you still remember me (sort of). I hope you are doing well. It would be nice to see some of your more recent photos. I went to check you out on your website but found the door closed . Perhaps you will post some. you are always welcome to come and see how your wayward pupil is doing and drop in on me on Flickr. I drop in here and chat a bit, but I mostly post there, in part because of the file size restrictions here.

Sorry, my ignorance. I went back - glad I did. Well worth the visit (Dennis, if you read this - you know what to do). I plan to drop in from time to time for inspiration.
