These are great. Nice and crisp. Congratulations. Was this unsolicited?

@ Don, thanks for dropping by. Torontoist is just a Flickr group I post to from time to time. I did not know about their online publication. They just sent me a link. Pavel

Hey!! Congratulations Dear Pavel!!!!
I am very happy for you!
Your pictures are beautiful, the textures of the leaves are great! but how was that you hat the idea of the bw conversion?
Very nice work, anyway.

Thank you Irma. I know it is not a big deal in a greater scheme of things, but I am now just over 2 years into photography and so it is special for me. I am developing a feel for BW conversion. It seems to work well when you want the viewer to focus on lighting or pattern and not be distracted by (however appealing) color. It is also true, that I have these days more feel for the tonality than color.
Thanks as always for dropping by. After Photokina, I will decide whether to go ahead with Sigma 150-500 (I could use it in the Zoo, where I now go often) or whether to continue to wait for Nikon's update of 80-400. I am also thinking of a tilt adaptor for Nikon lenses (about $80). Nikon t/s lenses are expensive and frustrating by fixed relation between t and s. Another financially bearable option was to get t/s adapter for russian medium format lens (which would focus to infinity).
