Hi, welcome to this friendly Forum.
Nice shot, have you considered Blurring/Darkening the background a bit more, particularly the RH side. Ed. To each his own!

Welcome, Richard. Nicely exposed image with great detail, but to my eye the LH fungi should either be sharp, or a lot less prominent. To me it detracts from an otherwise great photograph.
Ask yourself, "What's most important for the final image?".

Another thought based on John's comment.
Clone out the back Fungi, and crop to a landscape format, looks good to me. Ed. To each his own!

What do you think of a 3:4 crop, and cloning out what remains of the top fungus?
Cheers. Philip P.S. Welcome, Richard.

How are these rough copies?
I get the part about the background, but not so sure about the horizontal cropping. It's really a vertical composition to my eye.

the 3:4 crop works, but I must admit now I look at it again I quite like the horizontal format too!
Thanks for everyone's input. Much appreciated Richard

Philip's 3:4 format is what I had in mind. Makes for a great image.
