That isn't a wombat! Cute little critter though, I think he's smiling.
Love the DOF on this one it suits it.

He is grimmacing, studioJ. He is waiting for you to make a mistake.
Really neat closeup wombat. Nikon D3100 with Tokina 28-70mm f3.5, (I like to use a Vivitar .43x aux on the 28-70mm Tokina), Nikkor 10.5 mm fisheye, Quanteray 70-300mm f4.5, ProOptic 500 mm f6.3 mirror lens. http://donschaefferphoto.blogspot.com/

Interesting that you describe this as '"the last of summer..." Summer is just getting ready to start here!

So close and yet so thoroughly sharp! This is amazing. Your model is amazing too, what is it actually? Irma and I can't decide if it's a turtle or a lizard...

Cool little lizard pics Col.. I especially like the last one
So is there a difference between the Bobtail and Bluetongue lizard here in WA? There seems to be some conflicting evidence on the few sites I just googled. Growing up in Tassie I used to see a lot of Bluetongues, but I think they were slightly different to the ones over here (ie they wouldn't have been "Western Bluetongues")... and I never heard of a Bobtail lizard until I came to Perth. It seems they are both members of the skink family (possibly both "shinglebacks")... and they both have blue tongues and stubby tails... so although I've probably seen a few Bobtails here, I've just been calling them all Bluetongues! They are cool little critters though. I'm not a big reptile fan, but I've always had a bit of a soft-spot for Bluetongues. They just come and go and do their own thing without bothering anyone. Some info I googled: http://www.calm.wa.gov.au/plants_animals...tails.html http://www.eneabba.net/Photoanimals/Bluetongue.html http://www.heyne.com.au/gardencentre/fac...izards.htm http://www.users.bigpond.com/snake.man/L...rogosa.htm Adrian Broughton My Website: www.BroughtonPhoto.com.au My Blog: blog.BroughtonPhoto.com.au You can also visit me on Facebook!
