I'm Ian Tan, 29, working as a Business Analyst for Dulux Australia.
Originally from Malaysia (KL), but I've lived in S'pore for 4 years, and have been in Australia since '91, now naturalised (Aussie citizen). I'm happily married with 2 pugs.
Interests include jamming, playing in bands, guitars (playing and repairing), sound engineering & amateur recording, and a little bit of photography when I get the urge...
God has placed me on earth to accomplish certain things.
Right now, I am so far behind that I will never die.

Well, since I'm suddenly a Shuttertalk Smooth Talker, I guess I should introduce myself.
My real name is Colin Carmichael and I am, as far as I know, the only North American on this forum!! I am brand new to digital & 'manual' photography having only ever owned cheap film P&S cameras. I dabble in PHP programming (mostly cut&paste ) and web design which is how I came across this site in the first place. I run the website for a Christian Family Camp and use punBB for the Camper Forum. Anyway, enough about that. Anyone who saw my first ST post knows that I am happily married - except when shopping for big-ticket items such as digicams! In my spare time, I'm a full-time student at Wilfrid Laurier University studying political science and philosophy. I also play alot of hockey - real hockey... as in ice.
That's me.

Hey Cailean,
Great to have you onboard! You may be right - you're probably the only active North American in these forums. It's funny how many of us here have so much in common.
Hey if you're into hockey - do you take photos at games too? It would be great to see some 12x stablised zoom action shots

Heheh, in this part of the world, we play hockey on grass, using funny hooked wooden sticks and balls. Oh yeah... and you run, not skate
