Hi ya all!
yesterday i had a session with a friend that wanted some pictures for his website and to market him self. He is a very talented singer, was amongst the top 5 in Idol Sweden.
We planned a outdoor session, but the weather worked against us, very windy. So we drove around to find a spot that wasnt like a wind tunnel .-)
Stumbled across an empty warehouse. We took our chances and brought in the gear.
Here are some lousy shots of the location, just to get an idea of it :-)
Setup:
Elinchrom Ranger with a 135 cm Octa. 1x2 meters foamcore sheets (no need for me to use my skylite, the warehouse was full with foamcore blocks and sheets :-)
Anyway here are some mixed shots.
PP was intentional a little bit cool and raw, i figured the look would suit the location.
C&C welcome as always.

Really nice photographs from you Paul. Your photographs are always so wonderfully done
So convenient that the place had foamcore sheets! As if it was meant to be used for photoshooting
Great photographs

Thanx Adam.
Yes it was kind of funny.
we where driving around in a area with lots of industries, and when we drove by the empty warehouse both me and my brother said "look!!"
It was tempting to take one of those large foamcore sheets with us.

Great portraits Paul.
The light is perfect. I like the picture where he is smiling... He has a lovely smile, better expression than serious.... I think.
I like your post processing and yes, the cool mood goes geat with the place...
Thanks for sharing....

But with me and my brother goofing around... well he finally broke down.
Thanx for looking.

You have done some very professional work here. I could see any these in a magazine or CD sleeve.
Very impressive, well done.
But the question is - Is he happy with the results?

g'day Paul, great shots mate!!! Really like your use of light........ the single light from the side adds depth and character.
one of my picks would be jonah09 but to be picky :/ the shadow on the right side of his face is too deep and blends into the background. this may be a monitor thing???
all in all I would be more than happy if these were mine
cheers

Thanx Russ and NT
Russ:
Its not a monitor thing, i intentionally removed the foamcore to get deeper shadows on that shot. Maybe a little to deep for some.
It was the first time i used the Octa on location. Im very pleased with the light it produce. Large and quite even for being the only light source.
@ 1/250s F/9 there where no contribution from ambient light.
Thanx for looking.
