Hi
new to this - and digital photography. My special interest is wildlife photography, esp. Marine Mammals, but I love to snap pics of just about everyone and everything. Even landscapes. I am an amateur, but have had some photos published in the past. Even did some concert photography a few years back.
Just went digital a month or so ago, when I bought the Canon Digital Rebel XT or 350D. Absolutely loving it.

Hi guys, I am Ross from Scotland.
I work as a railway communications engineer to earn cash for photo and motorbike kit
I have had quite a few cameras in the past (EOS100, EOS5, Sony 505v, Oly 2100UZ, Oly E20-p) and I now use an EOS 300D.
I have just desperately reduced my lens collection in the hope of being able to buy a 70-200 f2.8 L.
I look forward to browsing the forums.

Welcome rda
I'm also a EOS 300D user looking to acquire the 70-200 f/2.8L.
Are you getting the IS version?

Hi adam !
The IS version is still out of my price range im afraid.
I was going to get the Sigma EX version (I have had a few great EX lenses) but was unimpressed with the AF on their 150mm 2.8 macro, so am trying for the canon version.
I would be happy to hear from anyone who has tried either the Sigma or Canon versions.

Don't try and get to know me, I'm extremely drunk. I'm also extremely happy with the Sigma 70-200 2.8 it is by far my favourite Sigma lens!
Goodnight
Oh and hello if you're new, I should be polite n stuff but my brain doesn't work.

Hello all;
My name is Matthew, and have been a photographer for about a year and a half. I use several cameras, but don't think the gear is the important part of the hobby.
When I'm not holding a camera, or working with photoshop, or updating my website, I enjoy reading about photography and visiting photography websites. I work in a warehouse in downtown Toronto, Canada, which is a great place to take photographs.

Welcome Matthew. In the warehouse or downtown T.O.?

I'm a transplanted Torontonian born and raised. . Been in B.C. since 1993. Going to Live 8 at Molson Park?

Nice to see so many Australians and the occasional Canadian -- my parents are both Aussies, although I've only visited once, when I was quite young.
Petographer: the warehouse is okay for photography -- auto WB works fine, but the colours are poor -- but outside is better.
Live8 looks interesting, but I won't be doing more than watching on TV. Even that may be hit-and-miss. I think I have plans for Saturday -- out for an early-morning photo shoot in the eastern Beaches, for one thing -- that will keep me out of the house for most of the day. Where are you in B.C.?

[b]Hello everyone,
I am new to the forum and somewhat of a newbie to digital photography too. I am a professional theologian and have a doctorate in Mystical Theology, which sort of explains my user ID. I live in the USA in a small city about a 90 minute drive from New York City. I hope to make some new friends on this forum and learn lots more about photography too.
Where is this shuttertalk forum based? Canada or elsewhere?
Current cameras:
Olympus C-7070
Sony Cybershot P-200
